CHEAP CONSTRUCTION – BROKE AFTER 1 use I purchased this for today’s race (today is 6/18/2017). i’ve been doing triathlons for a while and decided to give this a try. ordered the carbon version. received it 2 days ago. installed it, and took my bike today to the race… guess what. RIGHT after 1 mile on the bike leg IT BROKE. i was coming down the bridge and started vibrating i heard a snap and the bottle simply fell I really hope this is just a bad fluke in production and it had a weak point. but i am extremely disappointed…
I remedy this by using black electrical tape to hold in place and that works fine. Iâve been doing triathlons since 2008, completing 8 Ironman races and Iâve always used the Profile Design dropdown Aero drinking bottle mounted between my aerobars. When I purchased the new 2017 Trek Speed Concept with the Mono Bar Extension Aero Bars I had to make the switch to a non-dropdown water bottle design.
