Pleasantly surprised! Having worked on Shimano derailleurs for forty years it is too bad it has come down to how cheap can you make it. My KMC chain on my GMC Denali did not have a master link, cheap, so I was screwed. There being no way to separate the guide on the derailleur easily, I drilled out the rivet and passed my chain through and inserted a screw and nut.
