Enthusiastically recommended — why did I wait so long to buy this? This replaced a ten-year-old Yakima rack where the bikes hang from a horizontal U-shaped tube. Materials fatigue over time made it no longer secure.The Saris Freedom 2 was easy to assemble. As a rule, I hate picture-only instructions, but these were quite good — they even told me to put two shipping covers for bolts into the trash. Easy to install, secure and load bikes…light weight Yes, there are things that I would like better about this rack, but for the price, ease of use and weight, it is perfect! We looked at a 60ln Thule, but I could not justify the cost and the weight of it for the amount we use our bikes. I wanted something the I – a smaller woman – could EASILY put on the hitch and strap the bikes down.
