Look great, work great! I don’t know how most people use these carriers, but I assume there are many people like us driving a touring SUV (great suspension, used only for highway, light road) carrying game consoles for the kids, kitchen stuff for vacation/holiday meals and maybe a folded Christmas tree. I cannot attest to how this setup would work for off-roaders hauling tree removal or other heavy equipment. Many of the reviews discuss cable length and routing. It’s easy to install Simple to install, VERY bright lights, but a few problems. The Passenger side cord was plenty long, but the driver side was too short. It says run the wires through the basket mesh, but the plugs were too large to fit through the mesh on my rack, (Pro Series 63153, which it says it’s compatible with). I can splice in extensions to solve this, but I was installing this as we’re packing to leave, so no time, had to run the wires across the TOP of the rack, which worried me about cargo…
Shockingly Substandard Design – Be Prepared for Issues! ZERO Stars would be better! If this was any more poorly engineered it would not work at all. First, the wire set (driver side) is FOURTY TWO INCHES SHORTER than the passenger side wire set!!! Since the plug is in the MIDDLE of most cars, one can only surmise that the “engineer” who made this decision is just plain stupid! Second, the photo diagram clearly shows that the wires should be attached to the underside of the carrier and then the plug should be INSERTED THROUGH THE BOTTOM GRATE to access the light…
