Retrospec Mini Mantra Fixie Bicycle with Sealed Bearing Hubs and Headlamp, Graphite, 57cm/Large
Retrospec Bicycles brings you the industry-leading fixie: the Mantra. This model of the fixed-gear bicycle incorporates simplicity and ingenuity into its design. Los Angeles-based company Retrospec Bicycles designs, manufactures, and distributes these babies with an array of upgrades, most impressively of which are the sealed cartridge bearing hubs. These hubs are a vital element for city street cyclists. Not only do they improve the smoothness of your two-wheeled excursion, but they also ultimately increase the durability and lifespan of your wheels. The hand-built tig-welded “urban comfort” design high-tensile strength steel frame and fork have bar spin clearance, horizontal drop outs, and no toe overlap. Other notable upgrades include platform pedals with included FGFS straps (removable), Kenda Kwest Commuter tires, integrated seat post, bike tools included, and awesome double-wall super deep-v Stars rims. We only include brand name components from the highest end suppliers on all of our bikes, so you don’t have to worry about switching bits and pieces out. Our Mantra also features a flip-flop hub on the rear wheel. This means you can ride fixed-gear or single-speed. We like having choices and we know you do, too. By simply flipping the rear wheel around, you can choose to transform you bicycle from a fixie to a single-speed with a freewheel and back again. Rather than riding fixed-gear, during which your motion and exerted energy correlate to the distance travelled, you can ride a freewheeling bicycle, like every other bicycle you’ve ever had the pleasure of riding. It’s up to you. What are you waiting for? Get riding.

Review for the Bike Illiterate like me I won’t cover the stuff the other reviews do: the bike looks cool, it’s well made, etc. Before buying this bike I did not know what a “fixie” was. I was simply looking for a cheap, good bike for urban cycling. You can switch this bike between a fixie and a single speed by flipping the back wheel (there are 2 different back gears on the wheel that change the setting).Fixie (this is how the bike comes in the box): When the bike moves forward, the pedals move…
Low quality crank and pedals – replacement bike had bent frame and scratches. This is my first fixed gear and I really loved it. After only three days of riding, the threads on the crank (that connects to the left pedal) grinded away. Amazon is sending me a replacement bike but now I have rebuild the bike again and then rebox the old one to ship it back. I could also just replace the crank part but it is a big hassle (and I should not have to pay for it since I had the bike for a week). I fear this might happen again since it only took about < 30 miles of riding...
Very simple machine with too many problems Purchased this from Amazon several months ago. I thought I would put a few miles on it before I wrote the review. I have put close to 1000 miles on it so far. Here is what I have found:-Assembly was easy and everything was in the box. The bottom of the front fork was a little tweaked so getting the front tire on was a little bit of a problem.- In my opinion the bike looks great. I really liked the flat black paint and lack of shiny parts.I think that the RETROSPEC badging looks…
