Good wheelset for first time fixed gear riders. Nothing else. Figured I’d give this wheelset a try when I was building my first fixed gear bike a little under a year ago. First issue with this wheelset is cog came fairly loose so within the first couple rides, my cog & cog lock spun loose (causing a bit of cross threading) I tightened it all up, it was fine for a couple months before doing it again. I rode this bike no more than 250miles in the time I’ve had this wheelset my rear hub/bearings are officially toast. Getting a grinding/popping sound coming…
Two years out review… Don’t waste your money with these. Was skeptical when I bought them, Retrospec has always seemed like a meh brand to me… Now, it’s proven true.I got both mounted, and the front rim is not only not-true, but not round… As in, it’s an ellipse. When the wheel spins, outside of the rim should be perfectly straight. This wheel I have is bobbing up and down about 2-3mm. Not acceptable in my book.Sending these back.Update: Back one is an ellipse also after…
