Don’t even try a new cable job until you get this tool I had been using a die grinder with a small cutting wheel to get really square cuts, but it was creating a lot of heat and often it was hard to find the end opening of the Teflon liners after a cut, and the housing’s outer plastic sometimes distorted. Pliers and hack saws make a mess of the linear cable reinforcement. I had just never used the proper tool.. THIS is a Proper tool. With the very first cable housing cut, I had cable inside, ready to push the liner back out straight… Didn’t need…
Worthwhile Tool I recently spent several days upgrading, and detailing our 16 year old Schwinn road bikes. Part of that process included new brakes, (cable guides, end caps, cables, and brake pads).
