Osmo Nutrition Active Hydration for Men, Blackberry, 40 Serving Canister, 14.2oz
Used by elite athletes like 3 time Cycling World Champion, Peter Sagan, Osmo Active Hydration is a during-exercise hydration drink developed by pioneering scientist Dr. Stacy Sims. Osmo Active Hydration has been developed to optimize hydration, using sucrose and glucose with sodium. This sugar and sodium combination has been shown to maximize fluid absorption. OSMO Active Hydration has a lower carbohydrate percentage (3.5% compared to most drinks at 6-8%), which keeps the osmolality low for faster emptying of the gut and greater fluid absorption. Having fluid that actually reaches the blood allows for a slower core temperature rise, and the ability to maintain blood-flow to the muscles. It is important to remember that when you feel thirsty, you are already 2% dehydrated, which equates to a decline of up to 11% max power. Osmo Active Hydration also has higher sodium content per serving; this is to improve the balance between water, sodium and other electrolytes across all vascular spaces during exercise, thus helping to reduce hypo- or hypernatremia.

great in every way except the price In addition to Osmo, Iâve used hydration products from Skratch, First Endurance, Nuun, Hammer and of course Gatorade. Of these products Osmo is probably my favorite with Skratch and First Endurance close behind. Osmo tastes great, mixes consistently & easily, and provides great hydration. The flavor is blackberry but it has more of a light, generic, berry flavor. Whatever it is, it tastes wonderful and itâs not overly sweet. It mixes easily and completely, better than Skratch does. Most…
Keeps you hydrated I received a trial package of this last year during the Mt. Tam Dirt Fondo. I kinda forgot about it after that.Later after doing some research and speaking with a nutritionist I decided to give Osmo a try on a nearly 50 mile, 5000 foot gain mountain bike ride. I was well hydrated. This stuff works. The idea is that your hydrating liquid ought not also be your source of energy/carbs. Gels, clif bars and Gatorade power many riders just fine so I consider this an “optional” way…
