Physical security let down by deliberate backdoor In theory, the security of this lock is fine – it won’t unlock unless your phone sends it an unlock command that includes your password, and attempting to force it while locked sets off a very loud alarm that’ll continue until the password is sent. The physical security is also completely adequate, and certainly no worse than many other locks on the market. Unfortunately there’s a couple of problems:1) The password is sent unencrypted. 2.4GHz Bluetooth scanners are fairly cheap and…
Secure and safe! I was prompted to purchase this since a previous buyer touted a security flaw, I attemtped to recreate this flaw and was unsucessful. I reached out to nuvending in regards and they informed me it has since been patched. In order for this to work a person would have to be able to connect to the lock using the pass code. After the phone is out of BT range the lock goes into a low low power state waiting for the paired device to reconnect. It would seem that this previous flaw has been rectified…
NuLock will safeguard your bike, sound an alarm when tampered with, and can be controlled by a smartphone app When I read of the RVing couple that had their bikes stolen right off the back of their RV in the dead of night while they were inside sleeping, I thought how vulnerable I was to the same kind o thievery. That’s when I discovered NuLock. The feature that caught my interest was that if someone tried to steal the bikes from the couple that blogged about their loss, this might be the product that would have thwarted the theft. The NuLock looks like other heavy-duty cable locks, but with both ends…
