Louis Garneau L.A. 84 Bike Shoes, Black, US (7), EU (40)
Modern technology meets classic style in the L.A. 84 Cycling Shoes. With a traditional lace-up construction may give the impression they’re short on technical performance, but below the surface they’re brimming with innovative features. Reinforced nylon outsoles are rigid and tough for great power transfer, and also feature a multi-vent system for enhanced breathability. The thermobonded outer construction is seamless for improved aerodynamics, while the combination of engineered leather and mesh provides next level support and comfort. A spare set of laces lets you mix up the look of the shoes by going for classic black or neon/white, while a heel reflector ups the safety stakes with improved visibility. The shoes are optimized for use with SPD-SL, SPD, TIME, LOOK and SPEEDPLAY cleat systems.

Good shoe, but beware if using SPD cleats Overall, good shoe for the price. I like the look, and it’s very easy to wipe off any dirt if riding outdoors. What I don’t like is that the shoe says SPD compatible (important if you want to use for spin class), but doesn’t mention that you’ll need to buy the Shimano 4-hole cleat nut separate for both shoes. This will add another $10-20 to the price whereas most SPD compatible shoes already come with this piece. You will have to do some cutting around the toe of the shoe to take out the…
These shoes fit great and look amazing These shoes fit great and look amazing. They are exactly what I was looking for to use with my new spin bike. The only challenge I had was there were really no instructions about how to access the opening for attaching my SPD cleats, but a quick youtube search and I had an ‘aha’ moment and 30 minutes later I had the cleats installed with no problem.Essentially here are the steps:1. Remove the laces of the shoe, then remove the insole2. Using the hex wrench, gently push…
Stylin’ on a budget! These are the poor man’s version of the Giro Empire. I’ve have around 150 miles on them and they’ve been pretty comfortable so far, stiff on the sprints and the climbs. I wear 10.5-11 depending on the brand, I ordered a 45 and it fits great. I could have gone with a 46, but I feel like the shoe will eventually mold to my foot. I haven’t ran these shoes with SPD cleats, they come with some of the hardware but I still think you might have to purchase adapters. I’ll update once I’ve put more miles…
