Hollywood Racks HR1400 Sport Rider SE 4-Bike Platform Style Hitch Mount Rack (2-Inch Receiver)
Hollywood racks started in 1973 when we began making trunk-mounted racks in the back of our bike shop in Hollywood, California. Our Aim was simple: we wanted to make good quality products that were easy to use and came fully assembled. We earned a great reputation fast and soon began selling our racks to other bike shops throughout California. By the late ’70s, we began selling our racks to bicycle companies such as Schwinn, Peugeot and nishiki. In 1981, we closed the bike shop and opened a small factory in los angeles, CA to exclusively make car racks, then relocated to a larger facility in 1988. In 1989, we began exporting our products to Europe, and in the 1990’s we expanded our line to include racks for trailer hitches, pickup trucks and spare tires. We have since relocated our offices, R and d and us warehouse to our present facility in the los angeles area with manufacturing in Taiwan. Our products are available in all 50 States and in over 25 countries worldwide. This heavy-duty platform-style rack is designed as a 2 + 2 system so it can be easily converted to hold either two bicycles or four bicycles. It mounts on a 2-inch hitch and folds flat against the back of a vehicle when not in use. The rack uses padded universal top clamps and adjustable wheel holders. Bikes need simply to be dropped into the wheel holders and clamps slid down onto the frames. Velcro wheel straps add security. To prevent rack sway, the hitch system is “no-wobble/no-tools” and includes a locking pin and 9-foot security cable. The rack carries a limited warranty against defects.

Very well built and easy to use! I spent a lot of time attempting to locate a bike rack that will hold four adult bikes and was NOT a hanging version. Most high-end racks (with extension) are going to cost between $900 and $1,000. I purchased this one (as my kids are getting older and their bikes are now larger) to replace a Thule 4-bike rack system that I purchased four years ago.Long story short – this is an amazing rack. There is a Youtube video on the Amazon site that does a good job of showing how to put it…
Battleship! I have only had the Hollywood Racks HR1400 for a couple of weeks, however, based on what I know right now I am going to be extremely satisfied with this product. My first, and only, word of caution is that you must make sure that when you install the receiver tube into your hitch receiver that the hitch pin goes through the hitch tightening system within the receiver tube. Once you have the receiver tube on, the rest of the installation takes maybe 20 minutes. The majority of that time will…
Honda Odyssey with a hitch 2004 Honda Odyssey with a hitch. The bottom of our hitch is 9 inches off the ground. You add a 80 pound rack with 4 bikes and it drops down to 8 inches. The rack has a rod that sticks out of the hitch around 14 inches (this is a guess since I am not near the rack at the moment). We could not get out of our driveway without hitting bottom and we do not have a steep driveway. So I bought several risers for the hitch so I could raise the rack up 4 inches. The hitch risers did not work. The…
