Hollywood Racks F1B The Original 3-Bike Trunk Mount Rack
Hollywood racks started in 1973 when we began making trunk-mounted racks in the back of our bike shop in Hollywood, California. Our Aim was simple: we wanted to make good quality products that were easy to use and came fully assembled. We earned a great reputation fast and soon began selling our racks to other bike shops throughout California. By the late ’70s, we began selling our racks to bicycle companies such as Schwinn, Peugeot and nishiki. In 1981, we closed the bike shop and opened a small factory in los angeles, CA to exclusively make car racks, then relocated to a larger facility in 1988. In 1989, we began exporting our products to Europe, and in the 1990’s we expanded our line to include racks for trailer hitches, pickup trucks and spare tires. We have since relocated our offices, R and d and us warehouse to our present facility in the los angeles area with manufacturing in Taiwan. Very pleased to find it fits our 2003 Corolla sedan and 2015 Honda Fit hatchback. We use the F1B to carry two bikes about 60 miles to ride on a Rails to Trails path. It’s been very solid. It was purchased for use on a 2003 Corolla sedan. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that it works very well on a 2015 Honda Fit hatchback too. In the photo you can see the straps attach at the top hinge and bottom of the hatchback door.There’s three straps to tighten on the bike to keep the bike from flopping around. 5 YEAR Update: Still LOVE IT, now, with photos! Got it in the summer of 2012 and had it for two and a half years and still does what it suppose to do! Fits three bikes, easy to put on a car and stays strong. Never had a problem with bikes moving around or falling off. We do not care but one down side: does not have any spacers so bikes may scratch up a bit one against the other. To resolve that problem can use blanket of sort in between…2017 Update: 5 Years and Still STRONG!!! Even the pads are not showing any wear yet…
