Inexpensive & convenient, but not built to last. It is not quiet at all as the description says. However I will say I have a mountain bike with big treads so that may contribute to the noise. The mechanism is fine however I will say that the directions are missing a step! If it weren’t for that it would have taken maybe 15 minutes to put together. But because of this missing step it took almost an hour (and a sore back) trying to figure this damn thing out. So if you buy this know that the two small screws you are left with at the end go…
The setup of this trainer was fairly straightforward, the construction seems very solid; note, the tension screw must be positioned properly against the small metal bar so that when adjusting the tension screw it presses against the bar. Otherwise, the tension screw will not properly adjust the resistance level of the trainer. It works fine, provides a range of resistance levels, and should provide a good workout during bad weather.
