This might be the best tire for old 27 inch wheels Great tire; I was originally going to get Continental’s Gatorskin tire for an older (27×1.25) wheel, but as it was unavailable I got this instead and am glad I did. It’s got admirably low rolling resistance and is a notable improvement over (barely) cheaper tires. While puncture protection is at best mediocre (no barrier layer) I’ve got 1 flat after 3,500 miles (how long this lasted on a rear wheel–writing a review as I’m buying another one) from a wood staple that would’ve punctured most…
Extremely nice tire These are great supple tires. The rolling resistance is very low. I suspect that they are not particularly puncture resistant. I had some tough tires and they were so stiff that they were too much work to move. I changed to these to tour on. They are a large profile which has done a good job of riding over the top of gravel and sand on shoulders. They absorb some jolts from points and corners without pinching.
