Best rack I’ve owned so far I would have given this 5 star rating except for two minor but annoying things. But first the good things. I purchased to carry my Quiet Kat FatKat bike. It weighs roughly 70 pounds and I was a bit concerned about finding a bike rack which would handle its weight and 4.5 inch tires.Pros1. This is a surprising solid bike rack. Not only is it solid due to the receiver tightening bolt but it is simply very well made.2. It is very well deigned with the folding tire platforms…
we now love this rack but wouldn’t recommend it until this flaw … As others have stated, there is a fatal flaw in this design. The locking mechanism for the tilt is not enough. It will back out when travelling down the road and drop the bikes to the stopper. VERY worrisome. We bought this rack to take a road trip from Washington State to Montana over the summer and we cringed at every bump in the highway, knowing after the first time it happened it could happen at any time. We drilled a hole through the side and now use a quick release pin to ensure the tilt…

The only thing I think could be better is how far it protrudes behind the vehicle, even when folded up. Because of that, I don’t feel comfortable taking it into the parking ramp at my place of work, as there isn’t much space in there. The anti-wobble mechanism in the trailer hitch works well, although does make it a bit more time consuming…
