Burley Design Piccolo, Green
The Piccolo trailercycle allows your child to learn how to ride while staying safely behind you during the trip!
Burley Piccolo Bike Trailer
The Burley Piccolo Bike Trailer enables you to turn an adult bike into a tandem ride, so that kids from 4 to 10 years old can keep up on the road and learn to bike safely, with adult guidance. The Piccolo features a versatile 7-speed twist grip shifter, adjusts easily for growing children, and offers great stability with Burley’s patented aluminum ball-bearing guided hitch that securely mounts to the included Burley rear rack. And, when you’re child’s ready to bike independently you can pair the Piccolo with Burley’s new Burley Plus (sold separately) handlebar front wheel system to transform the Piccolo into a full-on bike.
A Fully Featured Tandem Riding Experience
Thanks to its lightweight aluminum frame, the Piccolo is lightweight and solid. Unlike most bike trailers, the Piccolo features a 7-speed drivetrain with twist shifters that encourages kids to learn how to manage up and down hill riding. The 20-inch wheel rolls smoothly and can keep up with the adult rider’s pace.

While most bike trailers attach to the adult bike’s seat post, the Piccole frame attaches to the included Burley rack. This system connects the trailer directly over the adult bike’s rear axle for stable in-line handling between the adult and child rider.
The hitch mount secures directly to the top of the rack with a double locking mechanism for extra security. The hitch system features ball-bearing guided pivots to provide shimmy-free mounting. The hitch itself sits perpendicular to the ground, providing superior handling and stability overall.

Designed for children from 4 to 10 years old, the Piccolo accommodates growth with adjustable seat height as well as adjustable handlebar height. The front splash guard sits directly under the handlebars to prevent mud spatters from the adult bike’s rear wheel. Thanks to the rear rack mount system, the rear rack can still be used to carry panniers for on the road necessities. The Piccolo comes with a safety flag as well as wheel and rear reflectors for visibility on the road.

Amazing, Fun, Comfortable, Safe and Easy-to-use Trailercycle I very rarely review products, but I have been enjoying this one so much for the past two months with my 4-year-old, that I wish to share it with others.I am a rather short woman, and the trailers that connect under the seat post could not fit my bike at its seat hight. Burley’s Piccolo, which connects via a rear rack, does not have that problem.I found it hard to connect the rack myself, so I had it done by the local bike dealer (which added about $25 to the cost. I did not mind,…
Rockin’ the Piccolo! I bike about three miles over hilly city roads with my five-year-old to drop him off at school. The Burley rack attachment is incredibly secure, and I’ve never felt any wobble from my son’s attached bike, even going at somewhat faster speeds downhill or over bumps. We’re able to confidently navigate in traffic, knowing that my son’s bike will accurately track mine. If you plan on doing any sort of riding on streets, get the Burley. No other tag along model comes close to providing this sort of…
This was a simple decision that I took to almost an engineering analysis, but when my four year old son is in the balance, I don’t think my time was wasted. This is a resounding, “no brainer” to purchase.I have experience with Burley as a product. We own a Burley D-Lite child trailer, which when combined with an iBert, allowed me to tote three children (two in the Burley), a dog and three bags of groceries. There is nothing as well-designed and as durable as the Burley. So,…
