Germany’s most popular touring route from south to north! We start near Fussen at Neuschwanstein, which was actually the model for Walt Disney’s castle. Then we get cycling through the idyllic German countryside through a string of cute villages to impressive Landsberg am Lech. If the dressed-up historic buildings in these Bavarian towns don’t ‘wow!’ you enough, wait ’til you go through Donauworth, Creglingen and Rottingen & then Bad Mergentheim in the region of Franconia. The slow spin through medieval, cobblestoned Rothenburg is especially charming and virtually unpopulated. You may enjoy enjoy local color like the herd of sheep en route to the mighty castle over Harburg and rivers such as the Danube, Lech and Tauber. Each burg has its unique steeples, colorful town center and proud heraldry plus many have old stone walls and tall fortified towers. Flowered sills, romantically-styled paintings and fanciful calligraphy also adorn so many buildings to fairy-tale proportions.
