We first tried taking off the foam & plastic piece that cover the horizontal bar, but the metal bar that was underneath was very thin, leaving the basket a little loose – seemed like it would rattle around. We put the foam and plastic back on and my husband very easily stretched the hooks to fit over them, just wide enough so that my daughter can take the basket off and on easily herself, but still have a snug fit.
