The total safe working load limit is determined by ADDING together:
» half of the working load limit of each tie-down that goes from an anchor point on the vehicle to an anchor point on an article of cargo;
» the working load limit of each tie-down that is attached to an anchor point on the vehicle, passes through, over, or around the article of cargo, and is then attached to an anchor point on the same side of the vehicle;
PLUS
» the working load limit of each tie-down that goes from an anchor point on the vehicle, through, over, or around the article of cargo, and then attaches to another anchor point on the other side of the vehicle

Here are some install tips You can fit a 3/8â blot through the hole, but I chose to use a 5/16â carriage bolt so the âbolt headâ would sit more flush. Also there is a tab on the plastic surround…. this is there to keep tension on the loop so it does not rattle around…. once you have your bolt all tightened down it will flatten down. Pics are worth a 1000 words, so here are some pics. They really should of included some instructions (especially what the tab is for and how to deal with it) otherwise it is a good…
Recommend. I installed these tie-downs today. The process was very easy; find the positions where you want them and screw the plastic piece down with a couple of deck screws. Note that the tab in the plastic piece sits under the straight part of the d-ring. Its purpose is to put some pressure on the d-ring so it doesn’t flop around when you don’t have anything tied to it. After the plastic piece is in place put the d-ring in and mark the position of the hole in the metal piece. Drill a 3/8 inch hole…
